Deploying Applications in Spatial Hosts

Overview

Deploying geospatial applications in Spatial Hosts is a breeze, whether you are launching a basic ArcGIS Enterprise instance or configuring a complex multi-node deployment. This guide walks you through the step-by-step process to set up, deploy, and manage your application infrastructure efficiently.


Step 1: Select the Application

  1. Login to the Platform.
  2. Navigate to Resource Groups and select one.
  3. Click Deploy Application.
  4. Select ArcGIS Enterprise or another app.
  5. Choose the version (e.g., 11.5).


Step 2: Define the Architecture

  1. Choose between Single Machine and Multi-Machine.
  2. Configure additional options if multi-node is selected.


Step 3: Configure DNS and Networking

  1. Enter a domain prefix (e.g., portal-demo).
  2. Review the full DNS name that will be generated.
  3. Select private or public access.


Step 4: Set Region and Disk Options

  1. Select the deployment region (e.g., us-east-1).
  2. Set disk space allocation (e.g., 100GB).
  3. Enable backups if needed.


Step 5: Upload and Apply Licenses

  1. Upload your ArcGIS license file.
  2. Confirm license type (Standard/Advanced).


Step 6: Set Admin Credentials

  1. Provide admin username and password.
  2. Add optional team email for alerts.


Step 7: Configure Data Store

  1. Choose data store type (Relational, Tile, etc.).
  2. Name your geodatabase.


Step 8: Review and Deploy

  1. Review all settings.
  2. Click Deploy to launch the system.


Step 9: Monitor Progress

Watch the system provision in real time. Use the dashboard to track deployment status and metrics.


Step 10: Access and Manage

Once deployed:

  • Access the app via the DNS link.
  • Monitor metrics.
  • Scale or modify as needed.
